Let's face the facts; there are millions of people looking to make money online. In fact, I would go as far as to say that those who are not at least considering it are crazy. The internet has revolutionized the marketplace like nothing before and all of a sudden people from all walks of life with no prior experience can transform their lives with their fingertips. Unfortunately, with the increased opportunity there is also a lot of dishonesty and deceit, as individuals look to prey on misinformed and naïve individuals.
Lie #1 - Autopilot
Many marketers would like you to believe that you can earn money on autopilot. That somehow you will purchase a program or business that will automatically collect income for you. You can hang out on the beach or in one of your 10 vacation homes while everyone is just sending you money through your personal toll both.
Lie #2 - Fast and Easy Cash
Although I would argue that income can be generated on the internet fairly quickly this is a lie. Most successful internet marketers don't realize success immediately. It takes a little bit of a learning curve and ultimately some real effort. You will never make $25k per month by simply signing up for a system.
Lie #3 - 2 Hours per Week
When you want to make money online there is a time commitment. This doesn't mean that you must work 12 hour days to get your business up and running but it will take more then 2 hours per week. Many marketers like to lead people to believe that you can treat your business like an unimportant side hobby and get paid as much as a corporate executive.
I'm sorry for those of you out there who are looking for the quick, easy and autopilot way to wealth. Despite the success stories and the transformative power of the web, there still must be an investment of time and effort for you to become successful. You certainly can become wildly successful; I see it all the time. But if I fail to define reality I am not only bringing myself aggravation in my business but I am misleading you as well.
